sitting in a row

cracked parapet

١__ حمام أسود

مقيم في صف

سور شرفة متصدع

weaving webs

between branches and leaves

autumn spiders

٢__ شباك مهتزة

بين الأغصان والأوراق

عناكب الخريف

wrapped in fog

the flying plane

seen by sound

٣__ مختفية في الضباب

طائرة محلقة

مرصودة من صوتها

 red with shame

the sky at sunrise

one more kiss

٤_ محمرة خجلا

السماء عند شروق الشمس

قبلة أخرى

 black drops fall

from leaves of the tree

shelter in rain

٤_ قطرات سوداء تتساقط

من أوراق الشجر

ملجأ تحت المطر

 among the white hair

a solitary black one

keeps her hope alive .

٦_ بين الشعر الأبيض

واحدة سوداء

تبقيها على قيد الأمل

I switch on the A C .

١_ طاولة الطعام

مكان تجمع الغبار

ذهني يعمل

قبل أن تفتح عينها الثالثة ،

أشغل التكييف

a one - eyed woman

the window curtain shakes

nightly slillness

veronal dread in hell

breeches itch in half- sleep

٢_ امرأة بعين واحدة

ستائر النافذة تهتز

سكون كل ليلة

جحيم الحبوب المنومة

(حكة البنطال) وقلة النوم

can't tackle big beasts

and the sheeple that snigger

candle proccession :

read silent tears on the cheeks

of the mother of the lynched

٣_ لاتعالج( لاتناقش ) البهائم الكبيرة

والقطعان التابعة

مسيرة شموع

اقرأ دموع صامتة على خديها

أمّ المعدوم بلا محاكمة

 

 

THIRD WAVE 

 

I don't recognize

the bright new star in the sky

a beacon of hope

they say a new age begins

on earth , the virus mutates

 

scaring millions

post - Christmas repeat events

no vaccination

could change astro- calendar

of universal revenge

 

remains of prayer

now wrapped in a gift box , held up

shipping delays

no burial, no third day

total lock down , here and there

__ الموجة الثالثة

لست أدري

النجمة الجديدة المشعة في السماء

شعاع أمل

يقولون أن جيلاً جديداً قد بدأ

على الأرض ، الفايروس يتقلّب

يرعب الملايين

من بعد الميلاد الأحداث تتكرر

لا لقاحات

يمكن أن تغيّر قادم الأيام

الناس ثائرون

في صلواتهم باقون

الآن كل المنح المقدمة أوقفت

تأجل إرسالها

لادفن ، لايوم ثالث

نقص شامل هنا وهناك

بين عينيّ

وعينيها

2__Alone

the cell phone on her bed

rings

٢__وحده

الهاتف الخلوي على سريرها

يرنّ

3__In the well

studying her image

a woman

٣__ في العنق

متأمّل صورتها

امرأة

4__All night rain

the gaping roof

her shelter

٤__مطر طوال الليل

السقف المثقوب

ملجأها

5__Enveloping

all of the moon at night--

white chrysanthemums

٥__ثمل

كامل القمر في الليل

الأقحوان الأبيض

6__Wet bodies

of bathing women-

full moon night

أجساد مبللة

حمام نساء

ليلة مقمرة

7__Soft footsteps

of students bunking

class test

٧__آثار أقدام طرية

لطلبة السكن ( المبيت)

غرفة الامتحانات

8__A load of wood

on her frail back--

autumn evening

٨__ حمل حطب

على ظهرها الهزيل

مساء خريفيّ

9__A moth

struggling for life

on wire

٩__ فراشة

تصارع لأجل الحياة

على سلك كهربائيّ

10__A crow picks at

cow's back in the afternoon--

drooping rag-picker

١٠__غراب ينقر

ظهر بقرة في المساء

قطعة تتدلى من منقاره

11__After the party

empty chairs in the lawn:

new moon and I

بعد الحفلة

كراسي فارغة في المرج

أنا وقمر جديد

12__Waiting for the train

alone on the platform

swatting mosquitoes

بانتظار المطر

وحيدا على المنصّة

أسحق البعوض .
