Poem: “Old Files” and “Dream Ripples”

ISSUE

Volume 14, January 2026

Old Files

I burn my years and erase
memories that couldn’t be stacked
against the wall of a broken home

I’m too old to hold out long
the fall is certain
and the burden too much

I can’t be a hostage to the past
nobody would buy
the smoke is momentary
and the heat hurts more

let me live life through my self
doing nothing, thinking nothing
just sitting silently and watching
time takes care of the rest and life too

Dream Ripples

Who left the rabbit’s foot
at my door to uncover
the hidden secret
whispered in hazy dream?

missed chances add up
to the lost path through corners
overlooked for fear
of diminished abundance

in the race for living
by hesitating
and not exploring what’s new
intentional ripples:

broken myth models
incomplete processes
the soul griming in
slimy degeneration

the mirror of truth
the gap within and without
the trust deficit
the tumbling ground I stand on
